The Movie

This stylish, compelling and sensational Hong Kong flick is set in the 'Hollywood of the east', Shanghai, where Cheng Ye Peng (Andy Lau) has been sent to fight the illegal opium trade.

Meeting a recovering addict and an ardent Chinese Nationalist patriot, he cases out the smugglers mountain headquarters and hijacks a huge shipment of drugs.

Set in the beautiful Shanghai of the 1920s, director David Lai utilises sepia tones, artfully recreated sets depicting the golden city of the east, and exquisite cinematography, locations and costumes.

But in a typically Hong Kong clash of genres, styles and moods director Lai finishes his stylish, artful film with a mammoth gunfight and bloodbath.

Movie Ratings

I was expecting "Chinese Untouchables" to be a very good movie since Andy Lau stars and Produces it. I was sadly let down. "Chinese Untouchables" does have it's good moments though, and some gruesome one's at that, but after the movie ends, it just leaves you thinking weather it was worth the watch or not. My answer is no!
