In 1967, three life-long friends (Ben, Frank and Paul) escape to war torn Vietnam, after Ben and Frank accidentally kill a loan shark.

Using Paul's underworld connections, they arrange a "trip" to deliver contraband to a local crime boss.

Immediately caught up in local riots, they loose their goods, and are trapped in wartime Saigon. Enlisting the aid of a suave gangster named Luke, they rob the boss and rescue Sally, a beautiful nightclub singer

But their plan backfires, and the three friends are captured by the Vietcong. Now, their friendship is put to the ultimate test as they must fight for their lives...
