| The Regional Express Line is an express line that links Hung Hom to the Boundary with a few stops. The estimated travel time on this line is 15 minutes. This express Line has two options: 1. After Shek Kip Mei Station (interchange with MTR Kwun Tong Line, it will go west and have a stop at Kam Sheung Road Station (interchange station with West Rail), then it will follow the Northern Link and go either to Lok Ma Chau or to Lo Wu. 2. After Shek Kip Mei Station (interchange station with the MTR Kwun Tong Line), it will go east and have a stop at a new constructed station (Fanling South happens only if regional express line follows this option, interchange with East Rail), then it will go either to Lo Wu or to a new Boundary Crossing. The Chinese government recommended that if the Shanghai Maglev (Magnetic Levitation Train System) Line is successful, then the Regional Express Line might use the Maglev system for a planned connection maglev line with Shanghai (about 1200 - 1500 KM). The Hong Kong government also investigated a possible extension from Hung Hom Station to Central Station was possible for the future. Completion in 2013-2016 Will be bidded by KCRC and MTRC. |
