How often and in what ways do you use the Internet in your other classes? Do you find articles, access databases, download graphics and multimedia files, or surf pages related to your topic of research?
- Do you use the Net for other classes? If so, which are they? Describe the course and how you used the Net for whatever assignment or project. Be specific.
Yes, I often use the Net for many classes. In the Advanced English class, for example, the net was used when I wrote a term paper which was about eating disorders. I could find lots of the latest news articles, information, and statistics through the internet and it was really helpful. In addition, I occasionally use the online dictionary to find out the meaning of new words. In my major classes, the Net is helpful, too. It is necessary for me to know the newest ideas of my major, Life Science, and the internet is the most helpful way to find out those information. Sometimes,I use web-based service that is provided from the publishers of books of major subjects .
- How helpful was the Net? Was it more useful than if you had used conventional means, e.g., finding books and periodicals in the library?
The net is more convenient for me because it provides various types of data such as book information (for sure), articles which are reaally hard to find due to they are too old, journals of web magazines, pictures, movies and others opinion. Besides, It take less time than the off-line research. For these reasons, I prefer online research. :)
- Would it help if core classes in your major, or general education classes at Ewha were online?
Yes, for some degree. But I think that some core classes in my major are in need of direct contact with professor since the explanation is very complicated.
- Would you like to see other English or other language courses online? If so, what would they be?
No, I would not like to take the language courses online. I think that the
language course should include people to people communication.
