| Page 3 Then today - the girls had their 6 month check up with the dreaded shots!! Here are the stats: Madelyn 14 lbs 8 ounces - 25 3/4 inches long Theresa 13 lbs 11 ounces - 25 1/2 inches long Doc said everthing is looking good and she will see them again in September. Well I think that brings us up to date. We are off this weekend for cousin Jen's wedding. Mom's first road trip with the girls. Dad can't make it. But I don't think I have to worry to much once I hit that state line the girls will have tons of attention. Gee will mom even get to hold them? Aug 6, 2005 Ok - people are starting to yell at me for not up dating the site. Who knew that being a stay at home mom is even more work than being a mom and working 40 hours a week? I never have time to do anything. Where to start - lets go back to the weekend I took the girls home in July. It was one hot weekend! but we did have a lot of fun. We started by visiting Grandma L at work and showing off the babies. We then we to Cousin Jen's wedding reception and the got poked on some more. And I really think the girls enjoyed all of the attention. After the reception I took the girls over to see Great Grandma & Grandpa Grieger. This was Grandpa's first visit with the girls and his grin couldn't get any bigger. He is one proud great grandpa!! We then stayed the night with Grandma W. Uncle Jim and family came over to visit and have dinner. It was really nice to catch up with them and see my niece! By the end of the evening though mom was exhausted. The next morning we were getting ready for Grandma L and Grandpa Terry to come over for a visit along with Uncle Jim, Aunt Lauri and Kylie. Grandma W was acting really weird though and I couldn't figure out why. While finishing getting ready, I heard car doors slamming and figure the family had arrived. Well my mom grabs a camera and I am confused. I walk out of the bathroom and face UNCLE DAVID!!!! David is home safe and sound, with no plans of returning to Africa, Iraq or where ever they might have sent him. So the rest of the day was spent visiting with David and Ruth and the rest of the family. And I think that Uncle David and Aunt Ruth like the newest additions to the family. It was time to go home, and boy was that a long ride. The girls screamed most of the way home, and sitting in traffic with screaming children in Chicago is not a fun thing to do. But we finally made it and Dad took over so mom could have a break. Since the big weekend it has been fairly routine around here. The girls go to Terry's (the babysitter) 3 times a week so I can keep up on the house and errands. Along with job searching and the occasional job interview that comes along. Yes I am still searching hoping something will come along soon. I am either over qualified or under qualified. Can't seem to reach a happy medium. The week after we got back was a little tough for poor Tess. She was cutting teeth. Maddie's second tooth appeared on July 22 and poor Tess had none and she was not happy. She finally got her's on July 28 and by July 30 the second one had popped through. So she is much happier and is chewing on everything. Mom did escape on July 22 with Godmother Karen and we went to Country Thunder for the night. It is a big country music festival in Wisconsin. We ran into Godfather Rob and he sat with us most of the evening it was nice to get away, and Dad got to spend sometime alone with the girls. Last week (July 26) Dad bought himself a toy from work. He now runs around town on his new scooter. It is fun I have been on it twice now. Just no room for car seats. haha. The girls are now on to baby food - we have tried sweet potatoes and carrots and they love them. Tess, I think has discovered that she can taste things with her tongue so she wants to lick everything and Maddie is trying to wave. Ok maybe not wave but it sure looks like it and she does it all the time. It is hard to believe on Thursday they will be 7 months old. They are growing like weeds and seem to change daily. Well I think that brings us up to date on the lives of the Laws family. Be sure to check out the latest pictures of the girls swimming in the pool. |
