| Finswimming is different from the 4 styles of swimming, part of the motion is similar to the style of butterfly but not all the same. The technique is highly focused on the power of thigh and the muscular strength of the lower back, also the frequency of kicking. There is not much movement on both hands, just hold it tight and close with both ears, in order to make a streamline and break the water. This is the style we called finswimming. It includes the events of Surface Finswimming (SF), Immersion Apnea (AP) and Immersion (IS) with compressed breathing apparatus. |

| Put on your goggles to protect your eyes in avoiding the chlorine. Socks are used for preventing the pocket rubbed the skin off your foot and your ankle, after that you can put on your monofin. Use snorkel to keep you breathing. |
| When all these things have been put on then the motion of finswimming shall be started. |

| The following pictures show that the procedure of the starting of finswimming, althetics are disallowed to take any movement or attempted jumping action before the signal has been given by the Starting Judge. The Starting Judge will announce until all the althetics are ready without any movement on the station, otherwise, the althetics will be disqualified when he/she has a bit of attemption to jump :- |
| When the Starting signal was given by the Starting Judge, athletics allow to take 15 meters immersion and then raise up to the water surface. Either part of the body, snorkel or monofin should be appeared on the horizon of the water surface on or before 15 meters, otherwise they will be counted as disqualifation on the event. |
