Historical Data: In Spring 1927 Junkers Motorenwerke Dessau presented the first truck and bus engine at the Leipzig Spring Fair. This was the first usable two stroke truck engine. The SA 9 was a two cylinder engine with 45hprs. An 8hprs midrange engine became available with the SA 12 and the SA 20 was a highend 105hprs engine for large trucks and locomotives. SA 9 Truck Engine The small SA9 engine was also modified for usage in smaller river boats, like police boats and ferries. This modified SA9 was designated SB 9. As the 45hprs SA9 engine became to small even for smaller trucks, it was further developed into the SA 19 later on. In 1938 the SA-Series Production was stopped and a new engine family was introduced, of which the 2,7 was the previous SA 19 and the 4,1 followed the SA 12 engine design. An additional 5,4 was developed to fullfill the demands of the highend engine with 120hprs. Technical Data:
