Historical Data: The M27 was ordered by the Versuchsanstalt Aachen in December 1913 at Jumo in Magdeburg. As the M25 this engine is a simplified experimental engine with one cyclinder. The M27 was the starting point of Junkers aircraft engine developements. The M27 was specifically built for experimental design questions for this type of oil engines. The M27 was not delivered to Aachen before the breakout of WW I. Therefore the construction might have started at Magdeburg, but the engine seemed not to have been completed.
