Parts of a Junkers Ju52 were found in the Western Tatra in Slovakia in the end of 1996. These parts seemed to belong to c/n 131472. It is reported, that the aircraft crashed 30km northwest of Poprad on 30th June 1944, while the aircraft served at the 8th Transport Staffel. The crew lost orientation in bad weather and crsahed into high ground under the command of Kurt Plath. All four crew members survived the crash. At the accident site are still parts of the fueselage and the tail unit to be found.
