Junkers J58
(---)
F13/W34 replacement study of 1930

The J58 design was intended as a replacement for the Junkers F13 and the Junkers W34 during the early thirties. The F13 replacement was designated J58P and was an eight seated passenger airliner with 25% increased payload compared to the F13g models. However, this improved version had a reduced range and nearly the same maximum speed than the original F13s. In 1930 the Junkers F13he appeared with higher payload, range and speed than the J58P design, which was finally dropped.

The W34 replacement was designated J58F and was a pure freighter aircraft. However, like the F13 replacement the freighter variant seemed to have less performance data than the production variant, which came up shortly afterwards. Therefore it seems, that some design features of the J58 were incorporated in the latest production versions of the W34 and F13, while the J58 project was abandoned.
