The Fliegerhorst Fritzlar was used by Junkers Zweigwerk Bernburg since 15th September 1941. Initially Fritzlar was used as an overflow facility for the increasing Ju88 production. As in Bernburg, at Fritzlar Ju88s were completed from components of Aschersleben and Halberstadt. It seems, that later on at Fritzlar also own production lines and even prototype designs were built, i.e. the Junkers Ju352. The Junkers production at Fritzlar was stopped with the U.S. occupation in April 1945.
