The detailled bibliography of Hugo Junkers includes Junkers developments of the oil engines, their utilization as ship engines and the steps toward Junkers' engagement in aviation. Every Junkers' aircraft is handled in deep detail with developments, technical datas, subtypes and much photographs and three-side-viewings. Also mentioned are the known aircraft projects and development ideas. Wagner stops his description with the occupation of Dessau by the Allied forces in April 1945. But a very good chronology of the trials to refound Junkers Flugzeugbau after WWII in West Germany is added in the appendices. Junkers' engines are not mentioned in the book, so it is a sole aircraft review of Junkers. Also if you have only little knowledge about the German language, this book may be interesting by its tables and pictures for you My recommendation: Absolutly a Must for the Professional!

It starts with the first steps of Hugo Junkers as a young engineer and reviews his first approaches to aviation technologies during WW I. Every Junkers aircraft built between 1915 and 1933, when Junkers was forced out of his company are mentioned in a detailled description. A lot of side aspects are mentioned as well, like the situation in German aviation industry after WW I or the development of air traffic in Germany, Europe and other parts of the world. Also you'll find a detailled review of the struggle between Nazi government and Junkers in 1933, which finally put Junkers himself out of his own company. The book finishs with the dead of Hugo Junkers in 1934. The further development of Junkers Flugzeugwerke AG after Junkers death is not included. But therefore you will find a brief history of the engine developments of Junkers till 1934 and the development of Junkers Motorenwerke. My recommendation: A Should for the Professional!
