Flugzeuge die Geschichte machten - Ju52 |
Book |
written in by Hans Juergen Becker
published by Motorbuch Verlag, Stuttgart, Germany in 1991 (1. edition)
ISBN 3-613-01420-3
??? pages, ??? pictures
Also there are some military aspects of the Ju52 mentioned, large parts of this book are fixed on the civil airline usage of the Ju 52.
Becker started with the single engined Ju 52/1m also giving a detailed history of any of the 1ms built. Then he leads to the development
of the 3m and their operation within the worldwide air traffic of the thirties. Also Becker mentioned the role of the Ju52 in the
world's pioneering flights, like the Pamir flight. Of course military purposes of the Ju52 are also mentioned, but less than in other publications.
CASA 352 and AAC.1 are mentioned. Also included is a small look at the Ju 252 and the Ju 352.
My recommendation:
A Nice-to-have for the Professional (interested in the civil Ju52)!
A Maybe for the popular reader.

Die Ju52 - Flugzeug und Legende |
Book |
written by Heinz J. Nowarra
published in by Motorbuch Verlag,
Stuttgart, Germany in 1987 (2. edition)
ISBN 3-613-01105-0
222 pages, ??? pictures
published in by Haynes,
ISBN 0854295925
The development and utilization of the Junkers Ju52 are the main apsects of this publication. Starting with the single engined Ju52/1m,
Nowarra links to the development of the three engine version and ist civil utilization first. Large parts of the book are dedicated
then to the military applications of the Ju52, starting in the Spanish Civil War, leading to the travelling aircrafts of major Nazi leaders and
finally the major missions of Ju52s in WW II, like Netherlands, Creta, Stalingrad, North Africa, Norway, etc.
Also mentioned are the French built Ju52, which were named AAC 1 Toucan, as well as the Spanish built Casa 352. Finally Nowarra
also mentioned the existing Ju52 of today, like the Lufthansa D-AQUI or the Swiss Ju52 or JuAIR. In the appendix Nowarra makes
also a first approach for a Ju52 production list.
My recommendation:
A Maybe for the Professional (interested in the Ju52)!
A Maybe for the popular reader.
