Junkerswerke Locations in Bernburg
Arbeitskreis Junkerswerke In October 1993 at Bernburg-Strenzfeld a small workgroup for the research of the Junkerswerke at Bernburg was founded under the name Arbeitskreis Junkerswerke and Fliegerhorst Bernburg. In July 1996 a small exhibition was opened at the Highschool of Bernburg-Strenzfeld, which is located on the former Bernburg airfield today. Special tours might be arranged on the territory of the former airfield. The exhibition is open: every first and last Saturday per month between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and every Tuesday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. It is located at the Hellriegelhaus Strenzfelder Allee 28, 06406 Bernburg-Strenzfeld Phone: 03471-3554581 Email: [email protected] The Arbeitskreis might be reached via: Wolfgang Sommerfeld Zepziger Str. 76 06406 Bernburg Phone: 03471-333226 Bernburg Airfield and the Bernburg Junkers facilities were located left of todays Bundesstrasse B71 at Strenzfeld, Northwest of Bernburg. Not much is to be seen there today, except the exhibition, as most parts were transfered to Russia until 1950. Parts of the former taxi- and parking areas in front of the hangars are still to be seen, if you take a short walk inside the area. The hangars did not exist any longer, however some trees are indicating their outside dimension. At the former airfield today there is the Agricultural Highschool of Bernburg.
