The SHJA Class + Point System

Class List

Baby Green Hunters
Open to horses that have never competed in a hunter show before of any capable age.
Fences not to be set higher than 2'6". Division consists of two over fences, one undersaddle
and one equitation class

1st Yr Green Hunters
Open to horses that are in their first season of showing in a hunter discipline of any
capable age. Fences not to be set higher than 3'. Division consists of two over fences,
one undersaddle and one equitation class

2nd Yr Green Hunters
Open to horses that are in their second season of showing in a hunter discipline of any
capable age. Fences not to be set higher than 3'3". Division consists of two over fences,
one undersaddle and one equitation class

Working Hunters
Open to horses that are in their third season of showing in a hunter discipline of any
capable age. Fences not to be set higher than 3'6". Division consists of two over fences,
one undersaddle and one equitation class

Regular Working Hunters
Open to horses that are in their fourth+ season of showing in a hunter discipline of any
capable age. Fences not to be set higher than 4'. Division consists of two over fences,
one undersaddle and one equitation class

Note: At first you decide your horses status, but once that horse has shown with us in one show
you cannot change their status. For example, you show a mare in baby greens. You cannot not
enter this mare in any other level until the next season when she will start as a 1st year green.

Training Jumpers 2'6"
Open to all horses who have never shown in a jumper class before. Ponies may enter if
they are not eligible for the regular pony jumper class.

Level One Jumpers 3'"

Level Two Jumpers 3'3"

Level Three Jumpers 3'6"

Level Four Jumpers 3'9"

Level Five Jumpers 4'

Level Six Jumpers 4'3"
Horses are allowed to cross enter into any Grand Prixs but cannot do more than one Grand Prix.

Pony Jumpers 3'
Open to all ponies capable of jumping three feet. Ponies must enter this class
and cannot enter any of the other jumper classes
Note: All jumper classes consist of two rounds plus a jumpoff (if needed). If your horse
has never shown in a jumper class they must begin at training level. Horses may only
enter one jumper class and one hunter class. Once you chose your horses level they
must remain there until the end of the season. Then they can move up or down!

Point System

Note: You can follow your own system for your own personal records but for standings
we will follow the system as illustrated below.

Champion: 15 pts
Winning a Grand Prix: 15pts
Winning a Hunter Challenge: 15 pts
Res. Champion: 10 pts
