My name is Ji-hee Bae. Ji-hee is the first name and Bae is the last name. It sounds like a typical Korean name, and it really is. There are a lot of girls named Ji-hee, a name that has the meaning of "happiness'. However, my name has a different special meaning. � is the Ji- means "a mean, a purpose and or a hope". �� is the hee; it means "rising sun", or "rising". So when I put the Ji and hee together, it means rising hope or, rising sun. Personally, I think it is very romantic, and I like my name.
The one who named me was my grandfather. He told me that it took a month to get my name, because he wanted a special name for me. To think of my name, he went to many Buddist temples and studied tremendous amount of Chinese words. When I heard this from my father, I started to love my name even more.
In the future, I think the name Ji-hee Bae will be so popular, because of my fame. To become a person like that, I will study hard from now on. To arise my hope, my dream.
