| A Sneak Peak Behind The Writing Of This Story |
| My math teacher, Mr. Gnabah inspired me to write this story. It's a long, sad, but funny story why he inspired me to write it. I'll tell you the story, but I advise you not to let your cats read this. :o) It all started in Enrichment. One of my bestfriends, Heather Beyer and I were talking about cruelty to animals and how it's wrong to hurt them in any way. Mr. Gnabah heard our conversation and told us that when he was a teen he killed a cat. He had a cat of his own, who had kittens. They all slept outside on his porch in a box. One morning he walked out on his porch and seen a half of one of his kittens lying in there. The next few days he would find the same thing and couldn't figure out what was attacking his kittens. Well one afternoon he heard what sounded like a cat fight. He walked to his front door and seen his cat and a stray alley cat fighting. When the stray cat went away he opened the door and walked out to find it. "I wanted to catch it and drop it off somewhere." he told us. "So he couldn't attack anymore of my kittens." He had his mother hold his dog. (Keep in mind that his dog was a pretty big and awfully strong one. While one the other hand his mother was small.) Well, the cat had climbed a tree. So Mr. Gnabah got a bag to put it in. A long board and some rope. He tied the rope to the end of the board and on the other end of the rope he made a noose. He thought, that he could slip it around the cats neck and pull it down gently, then get it into the bag. Well, it didn't exactly work out the way he had planned it to. He got the noose around the scrubby cats neck and tried to get it to the ground, but his dog got loose. He took the dog back to his mother and told her to keep a hold of him. He went back to the cat and finally got it to the ground. Right as he was going to put it in the bag his dog got loose again and started attacking the cat. Mr. Gnabah pulled the cat up in the air and hung the poor thing. "I was trying to save it from my dog." he explained to Heather and I. "But when I lifted it up, trying to keep it away from my dog, I wasn't thinking that it would get hung." he tells us. So he killed the cat. Not knowing that he was going to, he did. (Show's you how much brain's he had when he was a teenager!) [just kidding] :o) Now Heather and I pick on him for it. And I got a lot of students calling him C.K. That's a nickname that I gave him. It stands for, Cat Killer. That's the true story. I want to thank Mr. Gnabah for being such a cool person, and a great teacher! I don't know of anyone else that would joke around about something like this with their students. I admit that I do pick on him a lot and I know that it could get annoying fast. But he doesn't seem to mind it. I'm pretty sure that he would let me know if he wanted it all to stop. Thanks again, Mr. Gnabah! :o) |
