Dear Friends,
Let us all give thanks and praise to God this day. He is Alpha and Omega. The Beginning and the End. Each of us has a destination, a place where God wants us to be. He is there in the beginning and He will be there at the end. If you serve my God, the only God, then He goes before you and will remove those that are against you. As you walk through the dark valleys, He is with you. God will comfort you, mend your wounds, heal old scars, protect you. I know this from experience. God has done it and is still doing it. He is no respecter of persons what Hes done for me, Hell do for you. He didnt love Shadrach, Meshach or Abednego any more than He loves you. He was there in the fiery furnace with them because they refused to bow, they wouldnt give in, they wouldnt compromise concerning God. He walked with them in the furnace and protected them there. Today as you and I walk toward the destination of God, He is there. God set me on the road to a destination many years ago. I didnt fully know where I was going, and didnt even know the name of the destination I just kept walking! Now, God has revealed that destination to me, and why he was sending me. He revealed that His Hands are on my path for protection and provision. The Holy Spirit has made this message very clear, and its not just for me but for every child of God. The title is The Road to Mt. Carmel.
Im writing this just a couple of days before my parole hearing, and towards the end of May God gave me a dream. In that dream I was helping a man pack his things to go home from prison. Someone came and told me, Pack your stuff youre going home today too. For some reason I couldnt get in touch with Kim to come and get me, so I started walking, leaving everything except my Thompson Chain Bible. I had decided to go on to my Pastors house. Along the way I was reading the Word the Holy Spirit was on me and I was preaching as I walked. He was giving me a message to preach at my destination. I walked down a long dark lane and encountered a large group of people. They had 2 big dogs with extremely big, sharply-curved teeth. The dogs were jumping at me, snarling and growling, but on chains, the people laughing. I kept about my business for God, continuing on to my destination. Then they loosed the dogs and sicced them on me, still laughing. The dogs ran at me, latching on to my right arm, the one carrying my Bible. They couldnt penetrate my skin with their teeth so they just grabbed my arm, shaking and pulling on me. I refused to drop the Bible I wouldnt fall but I was getting very tired. I looked up and saw a large black bear across the field from us; I whistled and yelled to him. The bear was immediately there it attacked and devoured the dogs and turned on those people, their laughs becoming screams of fear and desper-ation. I woke up then, and couldnt understand it. I asked the Lord for understanding, and immediately the Holy Spirit brought to my remembrance the account in II Kings 2:23-25. It was about Elisha and the young men that laughed, mocked and made fun of him. He spoke and black bears devoured them! I was going to stop at verse 24 but the Spirit urged me on to 25, And he went from thence to Mount Carmel That caused me to shout and praise God! Why? My Pastors home is at Mt. Carmel! My destination very clear to me the man of God for me to be under the clearest ever! Each of us has a Mt. Carmel in our lives, no matter what its name might be. It is a destination from God it is up to you to continue on that road. If you will be faithful, fearless and not faint, God will deal with every obstacle, even if it means removing people on your Road to Mt. Carmel.
A man I respected and admired as a man of God died last year. I still receive and look forward to his bi-monthly publication. One night I found out that several people in my hometown had gathered against me. These are my blood and all once claimed to love me. The next day I found out in a letter that another person against me was concerned I was going up for parole. I let all that start to weigh heavy on my mind, plus all the others here setting them-selves against me, looking for me to fall, laughing and mocking my values and belief in God. The ministry and family financial problems were weighing on me too. Doubt tried to set in. Then with my mail came a duplicate copy of the Shield of Faith I had gotten one just the day before. There on the front page was the man I spoke of earlier who had died. I dearly loved him this man who at 85 years of age, dying of leukemia, would write to me, speaking a word from God to my exact situation. Across the bottom of a form letter in his scribble, personal and straight from God. He had no other way of knowing what I was going through, things even my wife didnt know. Always he spoke directly concerning the problem. When I picked up his paper and saw him, even though dead and gone to be with the Lord, there was a message from the past there, and I had to read it. In the fifth paragraph it said, Remember this one thing, and dont ever forget it. It makes no difference how much you sacrifice, work for God or labor for the cause of Christ you too will have enemies. There will always be someone to work, plot or scheme against you. Everyone will not be for you. You will have enemies if you love Jesus. Do not give heed to them and pay no mind to what they say or do. Do not dignify their actions with attention. Continue in your divine ordination and eternal calling. Reach for the reward in Christ Jesus. It is yours through Jesus name. God spoke to me through a man of God, long dead in body, for me to continue on The Road to Mt. Carmel!
Yesterday I found out that several men that are around me every day, speaking good things to my face, were actually against me. They were all gathered together speaking evil wishes, all hoping Id be served out. I am not nave to the fact that the world is not friend to the people of God. Just another example of enemies to me and every child of God that wont compromise the Word of God. Several of these men pray over every meal and say they are saved. The fruit through their actions and words says different. The people of God have a standard they live by. One set of standards by Jesus. These men are against me because I live by Gods standards, in church and out. I am not like them. My words are of God and all He does and will do. I prayed concerning these men and all the other enemies that have set up camp against me. The Holy Spirit took me to Isaiah 41:8-20. Verse 8 was a great encouragement right off. Aint God wonderful and His comfort right on time? Verse 8 speaks about us being the chosen, and 9 tells us we were taken from all over the earth. God chose us regardless of size, height, skin color, eye color or condition we were in. He chose us regardless of social standing or lack there of. We were chosen over chief men. I had to meditate on that a minute Cassie was born from me, Justin was born to Kim. We love them both beyond compare; we got exactly what God gave us. Oh but the adopted children are picked, chosen! Each of us has been picked by God and given all power an heir to all that is His. We are adopted as sons and daughters of God. Your enemy is an enemy to God. You have nothing to fear when He points you down a road to a specific destination. YOU WILL ARRIVE! The only way you wont arrive is if you give up and quit. Verses 10 and 11 say, Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Behold (which means stop and look!), all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. Verse 12 says you can look for those people and theyll be gone like they were non-existent (brought to naught). Praise God people, each of us must understand who we are, on the road to our destination. We are the picked children of God with not one thing to fear. Not one tongue or hand raised against us will prevail it will be destroyed. How can we ever lose with our God holding on? How could we not reach our destination with God as our Redeemer (paid-in-full passage), our Helper, our Point Man moving and scattering obstacles (verses 13-16)? How could we not reach our destination when He is our Provider for water even in a dry place (the Holy Spirit), for food and fruit popping up everywhere (verses 17-19)? In verse 20 we are told that He will do all this for His children, so people will see and know it was God that done it. Give Him the glory and no one else. He will bring your enemies to naught and deal with every obstacle in your path on, The Road to Mt. Carmel.
More and more each day I realize that God is with me, Hes behind me and goes before me. He is all that for each one of you that are on a road to a destination set by Him. If youre on your own journey you dont have any promises. I encourage each of you to seek a vision from God concerning what Hed have you do and where you need to be. Look at Genesis 15:1 and His promise to Abraham to be his shield and exceeding great reward. Just search out all God did for Abraham on his journey. You are never alone and never have to fight a battle yourself. God will fight it for you. Hes never on vacation, never too busy, never gets tired or takes a nap. God is all-knowing concerning everything and everybody in the world. When someone comes against you just stand on Gods promises. If we handle things ourselves we make a mess. There is never a winner if we do battle ourselves and dont let God handle it. Angels are there in every situation for you. The enemy that is against you may not be able to see them, but the evil spirit in your enemy can. I pray for you and urge you today to find and continue on, The Road to Mt. Carmel.
Friends, I love you all and your needs are mine too. I love to hear from you and regardless of what happens concerning parole I will continue on the journey God has set. In my area I see so many churches that could and should work together. Many have services on different nights, so no excuse not to visit each other. I urge each of you to pray for the leading of the Holy Spirit on who to align yourselves with. Im not talking about denominational differences, but if the Shepherd is a man of God. When I enter a church Im not there to preach doctrine that is the Pastors role. God set that man in place over the flock as its Shepherd. As an evangelist my role is Sheepdog Im there to stir the sheep and run them back into a flock! :) This ol Sheepdog is headed to Mt. Carmel!
In Christ's Love, Bro. Don George |
