Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour! I pray that you will get before God in prayer before reading this message. May it comfort some of you that are experiencing these things as children of God. I hope it shakes some into realizing there is a wrong spirit abiding in them. I pray it pushes all God�s children to seek full use of our gifts of the Spirit. We are in perilous times and no attack from the enemy should be thought strange or catch us in a place where we are stalled because of it. We have power that the world can never understand. They won�t understand you OR that power because �They Knew Him Not�.
Recently while I�ve been preaching, blessed with the anointing of the Holy Spirit, I see people drinking it up and wanting all they can get. I also see people faking the acceptance of the Word. And I see people that have hate and disgust in their eyes, and long sad faces that look as if they swallowed a bucket of lemons! I know the heart condition of the first two, but can�t understand the latter. These were people that claimed to be children of God! This concerns me and wearies my soul. I know that the Word will be rejected by many, but these people often participate in other services. Let some big church come in and they are up doing specials, putting on a show. Preachers patting them on the back and giving them invitations to come sing when they get out. Now, I know I shouldn�t think this strange, but still I wanted to know why such things must be. The Holy Spirit took me to I John 4:1-6. Now, verses 1-4 I�m very familiar with and am often troubled that men and women of God can�t discern things in services. But verses 5-6 say, �They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.� Now that is pretty simply said! I�d read those verses many times but they hadn�t caught my attention! The world isn�t gonna hear the man of God. There are congregations sitting full of people wearing the name of Christ that have NEVER had an encounter with Him! They have accepted some religion, but not Christ. When any true man of God gets up and preaches by the unction of the Holy Spirit, those don�t have a clue as to what�s being said. It�s foreign to them. The spirit that is in them does not bear witness with the Holy Spirit. In many cases here in prison, many will see only a number and brown state clothes. This will be much the same in churches also. They will see a man with a past and they can�t see anything else, because they have an evil spirit living within them � how can they know it not?!? They are convinced, though, of their own righteousness. They won�t hear anything until one of their own with the same evil spirit speaks. Those evil spirits are confident and not afraid to sit in most churches, because there is little discernment and they have no fear of being revealed! The true man of God will know the spirit of truth because it lives within him. His spirit will bear witness just like when John the Baptist as a babe leapt in his mother�s womb when Elizabeth was talking to Mary. Not yet born into this world and yet he had the same spirit as Jesus inside of Mary�s womb! By that same Holy Spirit the man of God will discern the spirit of error when he encounters it. The people that have the evil spirit will not hear or know the ones with the spirit of truth in them. Why? They won�t recognize the man of God because �they knew Him not� � Jesus!
We who are the children of God can expect this from the world. In I John 3:1 we are told to expect it, �Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not.� Then in 3:13, �Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.� Cain hated and murdered Abel because they were of two different spirits. The evil spirit in Cain was jealous and despised Abel because of his relationship with God. �Marvel not� � we are told not to be surprised! Don�t wonder at or be astonished by this. Expect it! In I John 3:14-15 we are told there will be those that murder the children of God. This happens not just in the literal state, but through whisperings and slander also, and hurtful things said to offend. Those people live in death � they will not inherit eternal life because �They Knew Him Not�.
In John 1 we are told that Jesus is the Word made flesh, the light come into the world and rejected by the world. Verses 4-5 say, �In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.� In verses 9-11 we�re told that that light came into the world and was made by Him, and that He came unto His own and they knew Him not, nor was He received. John went forth to bear witness. The religious bunch was waiting on John too! Jesus, God in the flesh took on all human limitations and experiences to bring light to the world. He suffered every temptation and indignation, more than most of us will ever know. He stood as Saviour of the world in the flesh, yet was rejected by the religious community - rejected by the very ones who were supposed to know God. They had evil spirits in them, and that�s why �they knew Him not�.
My fellow servants of God, don�t be disheartened, don�t be discouraged, don�t marvel when you are rejected. Know that they will not and cannot know you because �They Knew Him Not�.
