"Make It A Matter Of Prayer"
Dear Friends,

       Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.  For all of you that are the children of God, you are a blessed people.  Even after the events that took place on September 11th, we are still blessed.  God extended His Grace and His Mercy to this nation that, as a whole, has forgotten Him.  As all these events took place I thought of how a time will soon come when The Church will be called out and planes will fall out of the sky, cars will crash, trains will derail, disaster and chaos will be on a world level.  Trouble, misery and hunger will be a daily norm for many.  A minister friend of mine just recently gave me a piece of paper with the following statements on it:

         My availability gives God the opportunity to
           do a miracle through me;
         If we fail to pray we intend to fail; and,
         Make it a matter of prayer.

Each of these statements fit during these events.  Each fits in our daily lives.  The question is, what will we do with them?  Every person that lost their life in all of this, either knew Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, or they didnt.  Each person at sometime during their life had opportunity to know Jesus, and either they accepted or rejected Him.  Many that day were extended mercy and grace, and given another chance.  What will they do with it?  My wife is an engineer, and believes those buildings stood longer than they should have.  That was the mercy and grace of God, so alot of people could make it out of the buildings.  There isnt a doubt in my mind that most everyone in there trying to get out, was praying and calling on Jesus.  What will they do with it now that they are safe?  As they look back will they see the mercy of God and tell others?  This is where each man, woman, boy and girl that has a true relationship with God comes in.  You must make yourself available to God Hes got something for you to do.  How do you make yourself available to God?  This message is on Make It A Matter Of Prayer.

       God is everything to us that we will allow Him to be in our lives.  He doesnt force His way in, but stands waiting to be invited.  He desires to be your Saviour, your Provider, your Healer, your Peace, your constant Companion (Jehovah-Shammah), your Protection, your Shepherd and your Righteousness.  He can and will be all of these in your life, and anyones life that desires to fellowship with Him.  Its all quite simple, IF you Make It A Matter Of Prayer.

       God works miracles for His children when they petition Him through prayer.  Its important to pray seeking Gods will, that His name be glorified in the miracle.  Ive heard testimonies of so many miracles.  Many times its someone that has simply placed a name in a prayer box, or given a prayer cloth to a loved one they made a point of contact, an act of faith touching and agreeing in prayer with other believers.  Im reminded of one such testimony, about a person that put their fathers name on a prayer list.  He didnt attend the same church, but that doesnt matter to God.  God doesnt care what the name is over the door.  All He cares about is if you know how to come, and that being through Jesus Christ.  The father was diagnosed with prostate cancer and told if he didnt receive treatment he would only live 2 or 3 months.  With treatment, he life expectancy went up only to 12 months.  His life was pretty much over just a matter of how long until the end.  When he was told that prayers were being offered in his behalf, he asked the surgeon to run the tests again.  The doctor politely told him the accuracy was very high the computer scan was never wrong.  Nevertheless he agreed to retest the man, as his diagnosis was terminal.  The doctor came back very confused the computers had never been wrong in all his years of practicing medicine.  He then told the man, You do not have cancer at all.  The man was available the following Sunday morning to testify of Gods goodness, healing, His grace and mercy!  Why?  Because someone decided to Make It A Matter Of Prayer.

        Many battles have come our way lately I will confess my tree has been shaken, but not moved.  Many times my flesh has wanted to lash out in matters concerning Kim being done wrong and talked about.  In matters concerning my sister, who has completely turned her back on us and most of the family since Mom died.  Ive been in battles so heavy that I doubted my calling and wondered if I could really preach the Gospel with my terrible past.  God gave me the answer after I came to a point and Made It A Matter Of Prayer.  I hope to share that message with you soon and it will come from Proverbs 7:1.

        Every morning for several weeks Ive been woken up by the Holy Spirit between 3 and 4am, and urged to pray for my daughter Cassie.  Shes 14 and lives with her mother and stepfather.  I havent been permitted to visit with her or talk to her for 10 months, with the exception of a few moments at Moms funeral.  Her contact with us has pretty much been cut off.  I have prayed, fasted, and still a lot of hindrances are coming.  Ive received letters that have deeply troubled me concerning my daughter, which have opened the door for me to proceed legally.  Im seeking Gods will as I petition the courts for joint custody and court-ordered visitation with my daughter.  Each of us must stand in the gap for our children theres a battle going on for their souls.  Im asking each of you to join in agreement in the battle for my children and yours, and Make It A Matter Of Prayer.

        As I close this I want to share just a few scriptures with you and encourage you to read them.  Luke 18:1 we are told that we should all pray and not faint.  Not just the pastor, not just the deacons, not just the prayer group, but ALL!  In Philippians 4:6 it says. Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  That phrase be careful means dont be anxious or worried.  Prayer is the one cure for worry.  It renews our trust in God.  It brings peace.  It strengthens us.  It brings assurance that God will work everything to our good (Romans 8:28).  We are told in Matthew 26:41 to Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.  Samuel set the example in 1 Samuel 12:23, Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you  Thats straight talk!  I challenge each of you to read Genesis 12 25 and study the call of Abraham.  Study out why God called him, his relationship with God, his failures, his willingness to Make It A Matter Of Prayer.

       My prayer is for the peace and joy of God to take its place in each of your lives.  My heart is with all my true family in Christ, both bond and free.

                    Love In Christ,
