Body Count- Born Dead (If only we could, I would play this album in its entirety on the show.)
Tool- 10,000 Days (This album leaked a few days ago. Like all Tool music it took me a while to get into it. Its gonna be sweet to read about all the weird hidden shit that I know is there.)
Animal Collective- Feels (I'd read lots of good things about these guys so I thought I would download them. Some songs are too experimental for my liking, but there are also lots of great songs.)<
Islands- Return to the Sea (This album took me a while to get into but now I understand how great it is. It goes in a totally different direction than the Unicorns and at first that was dissapointing, but now it is appreciated. They should've made Bucky Little Wing an actual song instead of the secret song, but oh well.)
Bill Hicks (I've been listening to lots of Bill Hicks lately. Panther bought his new double disc album, and it is a nice collection of his stuff. It is recorded far better then any of his other albums. I've listened to Philosophy and Rant in Em a couple times lately as well. It was the 10 year anniversary of his death a few weeks ago...)
Built to Spill- Keep it Like a Secret (I expanded my Built to Spill listening beyond their album Perfect From Now On. This album, like its predecessor is fuckin bad-ass. They have a new album coming out soon too.)
Grandaddy- Just like the Fambly Cat (Well, this is the last album we will be getting from Grandaddy and I am not dissapointed. It took a while of listening to get into, not as instantly catchy as Sumday. The worst thing is I will have never seen Grandaddy live.)
Boy Least Likely To- Best Party Ever: (This kiddish pop music is helping me fill the gap that the now defunct Unicorns have left. Turns out these guys are two dudes from England. I think this album is set for an offical US release soon.
Stars- Set Yourself on Fire: (I'm once again at a point where I listen to this album almost daily. It has shown itself to be quite the succeassfull album. Almost 2 years after its release it is still producing new hits. The song You're Ex-lover is Dead has been #2 for two weeks in a row on the National Playlist. Apparently it has been getting played alot on Muchmusic and MuchMore.)
Arcade Fire- Live in Winnipeg (This bootleg has been at the top of my winamp playlist for quite a while, so once whatever I add ends it goes tro this and I usually end up listening to most of it. It's by no means a "high quality" recording, but it sounds pretty decent and it brings me back to the concert, which is one of the best I've ever seen.)
Quasi- Sword of God (I listend to Quasi's album Field Studies alot, but never really gave much of there other stuff much of a chance. Well I put Sword of God on while playing hockey and it is fuckin bad ass. Janet Weiss has such amazing harmonies that are very frequent on this album. The song Case of No Way Out is such an incredible song. You'll have to listen to it to know what I am talking about. The song is up on our database now, so I'm gonna play it next show, if i remember.)
Black Mountain (Fucked up album from some BC boyz. We're gonna start playing these guys more often than never.)
Grandaddy- Sumday (I took a long break off this album and once again I am listening to it constantly. This time around I am dedicating most of my listening to Yeah is What We Had, Final Push to the Sum, Lost on your Merry Way and Saddest Vacant Lot in the World. This album is such a fuckin masterpiece. This album will always be one of my favs.)
Beatles- White Album (Imagine 40 years ago when this came out. Imagine being a huge Beatles fan and listening to it for the first time. I can only imagine a lot of people had their minds blown. This album can pretty much kick the shit out of any album it wants.)
Queens of the Stone Age- Rated R (These guys don't get enough respect. This is music that has balls. Autopilt is, in my opinion, one of Queen's masterpiece songs. If you want your ass kicked play this album and make sure it's plenty loud.)
Elliott Smith- Figure 8 (Everytime I listen to this album after not listening to it for a while it makes me think that is officially Elliott Smith's best album. If you list out all the amazing songs you come up with a list far larger then you might have thought. At this point I would consider Figure 8 one of the greatest albums ever, and quite possibly Elliott Smith's ultimate album.)
Built to Spill- Perfect From Now On (Velvet Waltz is fuckin incredible. So many other fantastic tracks too. Pitty I only started listening to these guys in the last month or two.)
Jim Guthrie: Now More then Ever (Listen to 2:03 of So Small and you will realize why Jim Guthrie owns Hayden and pretty much everyone else.)
Islands - Internet tracks (Abominable, Flesh and Bucky Little Wing are the studio tracks that are currently available online. They are all really solid songs and make me ponder that The Islands new album might be the best album ever. Abominable and FLesh might not even be on the album too, which also makes me ponder if the songs that made it are better. OH and also my hero Jim Guthrie is in the Islands now, so...)
Wolf Parade- Apologies to Queen Mary (Well it's a couple months since it leaked and I still am listening to it constantly. This album is something special.)
