What would you say your favorite role [so far] has been?
Well, it's a toss up between Choptop from "Chainsaw 2" & Otis from "House of 1000 Corpses". I like a role with some meat (however rotten) on its bones, and both of them are comfortable characters to slip into. I love Choptop 'cause he's a skitchy, twitchy little psycho; and I love Otis 'cause he's humorless at first- takes him awhile to warm up to his "guests"-- but when he does, all hell breaks loose, and he has himself a royal ball!

How did you decide to start your band, Cornbugs?
Cornbugs kinda formed itself. I was friends with Buckethead, asked him if he would get together with him to make up some songs that I could sell on cassette at a Fangoria show in Pasadena a couple of years ago. We made up seven songs in Bucket's favorite rehearsal studio, recorded 'em on DAT, had so much fun that we got together three or four more times, brought in Bucket's drummer, Pinchface, came up with another 40 songs! I took all the stuff we recorded, had a friend of mine edit it into two CDs, "Spot the Psycho," and "How Now Brown Cow" (available for the new low price of $15 each at choptopsbbq.com). Bucket named the "band." I guess it is a band although we've never played in public. It's just kind of fun, know what I mean?

Your website seems very... "in character". Would you say Choptop reflects a lot of your own personality traits?
You bet! I love eating meat, love my country (kinda), have a speedy, fun-lovin, crazy brain and a wiry frame to match. but I don't have no plate in my head, at least not one you can see (or that I can scratch)!

Where, in your refridgerator, do you keep your cheese? And what's your favorite kind of cheese?
Where do I keep my cheese? In my pants pocket...actually, on the lower shelves on my fridge-- the flap to the dairy case on the side of the door busted off, so when I put the cheese in there, it always falls on the kitchen floor when I open the door. What kind of cheese? honestly? Gouda, cheddar, cream cheese and that goat cheese that comes in a tube.

Were there any interesting experiences during the filming of Saw 2?
Every experience filming Saw 2 was damn near a life-changing experience! I spent $1000 on dinner for two one night, courtesy of two $250 glasses of rare cognac. Uh, my head was shaved bare as a baby's bottom...they almost blew me up the last night of shooting simulating a grenade blast that I had to run past... uh, everybody got walking pneumonia but me-- I don't know if it was the tequilla or the cigarettes, neither of which I do any more.

How much were you paid to shave your head for Chainsaw 2? And, exactally how long is your hair now [sorry, it's an obsession]?
$5000 for Saw 2, $3000 for House of 1000 corpses. I guess the hair market's down, or mine's just worth less. Right now my hair is medium long- it did grow back, thanks Gott!

What's your favorite video game/system? If you say Sonic for Sega Genesis, I'll shit my pants...
I've still got an old Nintendo, love playing Donkey Kong, Mario Bros., a mario brothers dirt track racing game. It's obsolete but oh so fun for the old Chopster. Only problem is my lippy daughter, the 15-year-old, kicks my butt every time we go head-to-head on it. My 3-year-old doesn't play yet, but when she gets her motor skills up to speed, she'll probably run dad into the ground to boot!

My friend insists I ask--What's your favorite landform?
Haiti, the Pearl of the Antilles, home of voodoo, fantastic art, terrible poverty and somehow some way a wonderful great spirit.

So... Exactally how big is your..... video collection?
My video collection isn't that big. I've got some of the movies I was in, some home movies transferred from 8mm film to video, got some horror and science fiction like Attack of the giant Leeches, War of the Gargantuas, The Mummy, some Starman movies (B&W '50's movies from Japan).

Do you believe in UFOs?
I was a student of the mysterious cattle mutilations in the States in the late 70's (that's what's on the cover of How Now Brown Cow). You bet I believe in UFOs. Humans couldn't do that.

What do you have to say about those people out there, who say horror movies [and those associated with them] are the root of all evil?
What do I say about people who think horror movies are evil? I dunno, look in the mirror? I don't spend a lot of time trying to talk them out of their ignorance.

Who's best: zombies, vampires, or ghosts?
Ghosts are scariest, vampires are smartest, zombies are relentless. I guess I personally like ghosts the best.

Now, why the hell isn't there a Choptop action figure?
No Choptop action figure? Why, there is. Just take half a hot dog, stick some toothpicks in it, put a little tin foil cap on it, and you've got yourself a real cheap Choptop action figure.

Anything else to say to the Chainsaw fans out there?
Yeah, if you loved Choptop, you're gonna like Otis Firefly of "House of 1000 Corpses". And come on over to choptopsbbq.com and play my crazy piano. Peace, love, and LICK MY PLATE, YOU DOG DICKS! 1
