Leatherface is the one of the best known horror movie characters. Even those who've never seen any of the Chainsaw movies [which is blasphemy, I know] probably know who Leatherface is. He's the chainsaw hurling maniac who wears masks which seem to define his personality. While wearing the Killing mask, Leatherface is brutal and harsh; the Grandmother mask enables him to cook and clean; while he wears the Pretty Woman mask when he's on his best behavior, eating dinner with guests.

Edwin Neal - TCM1
The Hitchhiker is often refered to as the "guy in the van", although he is probably the most disturbed member of the family. He was known as "The Killer" while he worked in the slaughterhouse, and he enjoys self-mutilation. His infamous headcheese speech will always be remembered by all Chainsaw fans... "They take the head, and they boil it-- except for the tongue-- and they scrape all the flesh away from the bone. They don't throw nothin' away!! They use the jowls, and the eyes, and the ligaments and everything!!"

Jim Siedow - TCM1, TCM2
The Cook is easily the family member who still has a slight level of sanity. He has a very slight grasp of what's right or wrong, and he's known as the parent figure of the family. He runs the gas station and barbecue shack during the day. He claims he doesn't particularly take any pleasure in killing, though he encourages his family to do so.

John Dugan - TCM1, Ken Evert - TCM2, Grayson Victor Schirmacher - TCM4
Not too much can be said about Grandpa... he's 114 years old, so he's not very mobile. In fact, he's already showing signs of decay. But in his earlier years, he worked up at the slaughterhouse, and he did his job extremely well. Unfortunatly, he can't even hold a sledgehammer [or anything else for that matter], so his slaughtering days are pretty much over. Grandpa still has a bit of his wife left to keep him company; and he's developed a taste for fingers. This guy will never die.

Bill Moseley - TCM2
ChopTop is a music-loving psychopath who has a metal plate in his head as a result of injuries in Vietnam [explaining his absense during TCM1]. Being the Hitchhiker's twin brother, has many similar characteristics as Hitchhiker, and often carries around his brother's rotting corpse, who he's affectionitly nicknamed "Nubbins". ChopTop enjoys music, exit signs, and picking at his plate with a coat-hanger.
