About the Performers...

Sheila Arnold is the president and lead performer for History's Alive.  Additionally, Colonial Williamsburg employs Sheila as both a  performer and a Coordinator for the Summer Teacher Institute.  At the Institute, Sheila trains teachers to use new and unique teaching techniques to educate their students about Colonial History.  Sheila has twice been featured as a regional storyteller at the Colonial Williamsburg Storytelling Festival.  She also served as Drama Ministry Director at First Baptist Church of Hampton, VA where she produced a full season of major and small plays, and directed and wrote many original skits and plays.  Sheila has been performing one way or another since she was eight years old when she played a "Little Ray of Sunshine" in a slapstick comedy that was performed on Army bases in Germany.  Ms. Arnold has been doing character interpretations since 1998 when she first presented Ol' Bess, a tavern slave in Colonial Williamsburg.  She is highly sought out as both a performer and a presenter for schools, in-service trainings, and conferences around the country.

In addition to Ms. Arnold, History's Alive! is able to schedule performances with other historical interpreters.  Please contact with your needs, we are eager to assist you!
