Right, well I thought I knew something about history too, until I took the
class. I soon came to realize that some things had to change. Here is
what I have learned from myself and others in the class:
1) Do something new for a change...study! Unless you have a photographic
memory, I would suggest that you actually spend some time studying. This
makes it easier on you at the end of the year when you are cramming for the
test.
2) Get over yourself. You are NOT as smart and wonderful as you think you are.
Maybe some of you are, but this will not help you with the test. So go
belittle yourself. It will make things easier on you and on everyone around
you.
3) Do not fight with the teacher about the information you are learning. The
College Board does not care if you think that it is all a conspiracy. You are
learning what the College Board wants you to learn, not necessarily the
entire truth. So if you have a problem with that, take it up with the College
Board, not your teacher.
4) Watch the History Channel. You would be amazed at what you can learn.
Furthermore, if you already have a slight idea of what the show is about, you
will be amazed at how much you understand.
