YVR...My hometown...!!

For those of you guys who may or may not have visited Vancouver. This is a brief introduction to my hometown, the city that I have called (and still calls) home. It is a place that has provided for me for as long as I could remember. No longer is just a place I live in but rather where my home is.
Vancouver is the third largest city in Canada, situated on the western shore of the mainland of Canada. To the west is the strait of Georgia and the Island of Vancouver, to the north and east are the cascade mountain ranges and to the south is the US state of Washington.
It has a population (metropolitan Vancouver), of 2,200,000 people from all ethnics backgrounds and nationalities, from Germans, to East Indian, from Chinese to people from Africa. It is one of the most diverse city I have ever been to, even more so that other Canadian cities like Toronto or Montreal.

Vancouver was first settled by Europeans in the late 1700's but it was not until the late 1800's that it began its development that led to what it is today. From a picture I saw in a book of downtown Vancouver in 1886, where it was all covered with trees and bushes to what it has become today, just look to the picture on right of the downtown.
