Key Terms for Reading Quiz #3
Can you volunteer to find the key terms for Chapter five (even one is helpful!!), write a brief description and then email either a Word .doc, .txt document, or plain text in an email to me at [email protected] ?  This web site is "supposed" to be interactive. If I don't hear from anyone by Monday, I'll start on it myself... Till then, good luck.
I'll quote the key term description from you and even write your name on it saying that you wrote it, if you ask.. Many thanks!

Chapter 8 Racialism on the Run

People v. Hall- In 1854, in the cast of People v. Hall, California Supreme Court Chief Justice J. Murray demonstrated the classic dilemma of a American racist wrestling with the questions raised by Western diversity.  Ruling on the right of Chinese people to testify in court against white people, Murray took up the white man's burden of forcing an intractable reality back into a unified racist theory.

National Origins Act- in 1924, the new immigration policy in the National Origins Act gave the exclusionists what they wanted: a ban on further Japanese immigration, with exceptions for students, tourists, and certified merchants.
Thanks Chad! for the two key terms above!!
