| Kontiki is a very well rounded young stallion. He stands 15.1 hands tall, has a great confirmation and a confirmation to die for! Kontiki has the intelligence of a true thinking horse. They are very hard to find and when you do, you know you have a Gem! It's not every day that you find a horse so easy to get along with. Kontiki loves to please, he enjoys learning, in fact he has quite a few tricks up his horse shoe! A very whilling worker, he truly has an unbeatable disposition which thankfully he passes on to his foals. |
| Kontiki currently has 6 foals on the ground. All of which you can find on this site in the foal page. His foals have a great confirmation, a true whillingness to work and learn. They are gentle with their human handlers and love attention. |
| Kontiki as well as all the horses at His&Hers Canadians have been taught from and early age to trust people. From day one they are taught to give in to pressure, and not to panic if caught in a scary position. Using calm, gentle training, the horses learn to trust their human companions 100%. |
| Located in Northern Ontario, in a very isolated area, veterinarians are no closer then a 3 to 4 hours drive. Pauline and Gaetan take that very seriously into their training. As all true horse people know, horses do tend to get into mischief. That is why they take so much time and effort to train their horses the right way. When in a difficult situation where tangled up in ropes/fencing or even foot stuck in feed bucket these horses have been known to just stand there and wait for their human companions to show up and help them out. They are known not to thrash around and just stand patiently while help is on the way. You will often find Pauline whispering to her horses when she trains them to give in to pressure. Soothing the animal and teaching it to accept different situations. Kontiki not only has a few tricks up his horseshoe but also has been trained to do quite a few different jobs. He's an amazing trail horse, he pulls wagons and sleighs, he's often been used to help new horses in training to pull wagons/sleighs. He's a proud father of 6 beautiful foals but most recently, Kontiki has yet again proven himself to be the ultimate all around horse by starting a new carreer as a logging horse! |
