"Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all? And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his  lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their  portion of meat in the season? Blessed is  that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing." Luke 12:42-43

This parable was primarily for Israel, but the principle applies to us today, as believers who anticipate the Rapture. It teaches us responsibility in light of our Lord's return. Many people feel that the Lord is coming very soon ( and I hope this is so), but they are idlely waiting instead of working pending His return. We all should be working as though Jesus was not coming for another thousand years ~ working for Him ~ doing His work that He has destined us to do! So, if you are just waiting around, quit trying to anticipate the date of His return and get ready! Get others ready! The blessed hope is the coming of Christ, and we should be filling our hope chests with works that we can one day lay at His feet!

Application:
Let us not lay around lazily, waiting on Jesus to come and take His church to the wonderful Kingdom that He is preparing for us. No One  knows when that time will be. Instead, let us continue to spread the gospel and reach all the lost we can, as He encourages us, through His Word, to do. Our lives should be lived with the knowledge of knowing we must be accountable for every thing when we go home to be with Him for eternity. Let us continue to be His working, good, and faithful servants!

May God bless you with a wonderful day as you continue to do God's work in sharing the Gospel.

Love in Christ,
Sandy
