"And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David. And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David. And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you? They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him." Matthew 20:30-34

You have to just love these two men! No one could keep them quiet! They were rebuked by multitudes to be quiet, but just became all the more louder! And notice that they addressed Jesus accurately ~ "O Lord, thou son of David." They acknowledged His kingship. These men were Jews and had a claim on Jesus ~ and they exercised it!

The blindness of these men was obvious, but the Lord asked what He could do for them. Do you ask yourself why Jesus asked them this? Well, when you come to the Lord Jesus Christ, you must tell Him your need. If you are coming to Him for salvation, you must tell Him that you are a sinner and need His saving grace. If you don't, you will not be saved. That's the offense of the cross!

Everybody would like to come to the cross if they could bring along the perfume of their self-righteouness and good deeds. But, we just don't have any goodness at all, none whatsoever, to present to God. We can no more sweeten our human character with training and psychology and education than sweetening a pile of fertilizer with perfume! We must come to God as sinners and receive Jesus as our Savior. And these blind men did just that! They came with their need, "Lord, that our eyes may be opened"!

Application:
Are we exercizing our faith in Christ Jesus today? As these two blind men, are we shouting over the crowds that rebuke us? These two blind men had greater vision than those whose sight was good. How is our vision working today that would pleasing to God's sight? Seeing with our eyes, doesn't necessarily guarantee seeing with our hearts! Let us open our eyes to the truth ~ and let us not be afraid to speak out!
Jesus Is Lord! Let's get busy proclaiming Christ!

May God bless you with a wonderful day as you "focus" on praising the Lord for all to see and hear!

Love in Christ,
Sandy
