| "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6 "Being confident" is causative and could be translated, "Since I am confident of this very thing" ~ Paul knew what he was talking about! "He which hath begun . . . will perform." The word "perform" means to carry through. He will consummate what He began! "Until the day of Jesus Christ." We are living in the day of Jesus Christ. That day will be consummated when He comes to take His own out of this world. And the Holy Spirit has sealed believers until the day of redemption. Paul wrote to the Ephesian believers, "And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redeption" (Ephesians 4:30). And until then, we can count upon God to consummate whatever He intends for us. He is going to see it through. How wonderful! That we are alive today, is proof positive that God has something for us to do today. ~Anna Lindsay God Bless You. |
