| "Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle." Psalm 24:7-8 A very long time ago, God's people sang praises unto the Lord as they marched up to the temple church on Mount Zion. They welcomed Jehovah, their hero, for He rescued them many a time! Today, we need to be marching our way to the temples offering this same praise! For God has also rescued us through His Son, Jesus Christ, Whom He sent as our deliverer. Jesus slipped through the broad portals of heaven and quietly down to our earthly life. Stable doors creaked as they opened for the Lord of glory in His virgin mother's arms! He allowed Himself to become a beast of burden and carry a cross. But people then, and some even now, did not see the even heavier weight on His innocent shoulders ~ the burden of guilt and evil of all people of all ages. Outside the city, this precious, sinless Lord won the battle of all battles as He hung on the cross for our sins at Calvary! We, God's redeemed Children, above all others, should go joyfully through the church doors today. There, the Lord allows us to hear His glorious Gospel. His Spirit uses this Word to open the doors to our hearts that our inner self wants closed to Him. Through the power of the Spirit, He comes into more and more areas of our thinking, feeling, and will. His presence today, and every day gives us a foretaste of our eternal glory. May the grace of God open the doors to your hearts this morning as you worship Him in praise and song! Love in Christ Jesus, Sandy |
