| "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death." Romans 8:2 This is a very important statement! The life-giving Spirit is the Holy Spirit. He was present at the creation of the world (Genesis 1:2), and is the power behind the rebirth of every Christian. He gives us the power we need to live the Christian life. Because the believer shares the life of Christ, He liberates the believers. "The law of sin and death" is the authority that sin had over our old nature, ending in complete severance of fellowship with God.
