| "And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them. And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:2-3 These verses first tell us that the little child came to the Lord without hesitation. Our Lord takes this little child and places him in the midst of Himself and His disciples. Then Jesus tells his disciples (and He's telling us today), that they (we) must become as little children. The Lord Jesus is talking about conversion not reversion here. Some people think that they must revert back to their childhood in some unusual fashion or that they are to become juvenile in their actions in order to enter into the kingdom of heaven. The Lord is not talking about going back to a fomer childhood, but rather of going on to a new life. You must become a little child in the sense that you must be born again. When you are born again, you start out spiritually as a child. Our Lord says that if you have been converted, think of your spiritual age. You are to become a litttle child. God Bless You. |
