"I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy
wonders of old." Psalm 77:11

National holidays mark great events in history. Anniversaries and
birthdays remind us of special times i our families. Annual days of
remembrance help us better appreciate the past and bring us closer to
those we love.

God gave His old testament people specific holy days and feasts to
observe; even the rituals were prescribed. They had a purpose: to remind
the people of God's deliverance, care, and blessing.

Christmas, Easter, Revivals, and other church festivities are days of
remembrance of the great events of our salvation ~ the events that saved
us from sin and death and brought us into God's people, God's family.
During this holiday season, let us remember that it's not only one day
of celebration to observe, but that every Sunday is a Christian holiday
also. We remember Jesus' birth, resurrection ~ Word and Sacraments bring
His forgiveness and presence into our lives.

Observances disregarded are too soon forgotten. We need these days of
remembrance to gather with families and fellow Christians to receive the
blessings of God's Word and Sacrament. Each day of remembrance helps to
prepare us for our daily walk in life.

Happy Holiday! Happy Holy Day!
God Bless You.
