| Wives, what I believe God wants them to be. God created a man and put him in the Garden of Eden to have fellowship with Him. Adam saw the male and female animals. He was lonely because he did not have anyone for companionship. God created a female to be a companion to Adam. (Genesis 2:18-25) It wasn't until after Adam and Eve sinned and were forced to leave the garden that they had children. God created Adam and Eve to have fellowship with Him. Procreation was started outside of the Garden of Eden and was the result of man and woman's sin. A woman was created by God to have partnership with a man. Sexual relations is given by God for men and women to create or produce children within marriage. It is to show desire and affection between each other. WIVES ARE TO LOVE GOD ABOVE ALL ELSE Love God with your whole mind, heart and soul is what we are to do. (Matthew 22:37-38) We're to love Him above all else. He is to be first in our life. This is the First Commandment. Women appear to observe this commandment better than men. It could be they are more sensitive to needing God's love in their lives than men. It may be they accept the role of being a child of God better than men. Women who plan to marry should consider several things before entering into marriage and becoming a wife. Some considerations are: Remember, God's word says we are not to be unequally yoked. Is he a Christian? Am I a Christian? Do we both put God first in our life? Talk about it. Do we now go to church? How regular? What denomination will we both go to? Do I pray with him? Do we discuss God and Jesus together? Do we agree on having children and the number of children? What does he consider to be 'women's work' and 'man's work'? [are we both in agreement?] Putting God first in both of your lives is the necessary first step toward a successful marriage. Without taking this step, a marriage is likely doomed to failure, either on earth or to a lasting life in hell. Something to think about isn't it? AFTER GOD, WIVES ARE TO FIRST LOVE THEIR HUSBANDS A wife's love for her husband is to be almost as great as her love for the Lord. Her love for her husband gives him a feeling of pride about his wife, assuring him of his position in the marriage. (Ephesians 5:22-25) Talk to him, express and show your love for him. God's plan for a wife is to be a loving companion to her husband as he is to be a loving spouse to her. God wants the two of you to function as one [flesh]. Matthew 19:5-6 Mark 10:6-8 The wife makes a house a home. A home is where you and your loved one can relax, unwind, enjoy each other's company and pray. It takes a wife's touch. (Proverbs 31:11-13; 27-28) The husband and wife that prays together stays together. Be supportive of your husband. Be a friend he can count on to help him when needed. A friend that does not expect anything in return. Your love is like that. God's love is like that. I was laid off from my job several years ago. My wife supported me with prayer and encouragement in finding another job. We went almost five months before I went to work again. With four children and high medical bills, she was not worried nor did she complain. We prayed together for our needs to be met. God's word says He will sustain us and He did. Give your husband time to be by himself or with other male Christian friends if he needs to from to time. He should give you time alone or with female Christians friends if you also need it. Some time alone or away from your spouse for a short time can rekindle the love you have for each other. This should be when you are both in agreement. You may be apart physically but as one in spirit. Lift up your husband and loved ones in prayer. Jesus prayed for his apostles that they would be protected from the devil. Your loved ones also need prayer. God made woman, a wife, to have companionship with man, her husband. We all have sinned and fell short of God's expectations for us. God loved us so much that He sent His Son to earth to die as THE SACIFACE for all our sins, past, present and future. IF we BELIEVE that Jesus is the Son of God and CONFESS with our mouth that He is Lord, (or first in our life), we will be SAVED from hell and have an everlasting life with Him in Heaven. Amen. One of man's greatest needs was met by God's gift to him, a woman, a wife! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. --John Naberhaus |
