"And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven." Genesis 1:20

Spring is here! Yesterday, as I sat outside on my swing, I watched intensively as the birds flew down and perched themselves on the feeders in my backyard. They didn't seem to notice me there as they ate, chirped, flew away, and returned once again. I thought of God's amazing creation ~ even these wonderful little flying bird's. I listened as they chirped and carried on what seemed to be a conversation with one another. I watched as they made room for each other and seemed to unite. And then I thought of all that I have to be thankful for.

I am thankful I have found a promise from the God of all grace that deals with the "long term" and the eternal. I am just a plain person who believes the truth revealed in the Bible, along with other Christians. I believe that God created the heaven and the earth and all the things that are therein. Even me. God has placed me here also, just as he did the birds of the air. Yet sometimes, my song is not like that of the birds. Many times, we don't sing praises to our wonderful Lord throughout our hectic days. And I ask myself, "Why can I not be like these wonderful little birds?" They have their little trials and tribulations too if you think about it for a moment. But yet, they sing praises to the Lord through it all. I believe God made the birds to warble and harmonize as though they were tuned to a harp. I believe He put them here for us to look upon as an example for our lives.

God, who made the birds, is the Chief Musician of the universe. He made harps in those little throats and said, "Go and sing!" Thankfully, the birds obeyed and they have been singing and praising God ever since they were created! I believe we all need to learn a little from these sweet little creatures of the air. Don't you? If you are looking for a blessing, why not watch the birds in your backyard and join in with them in praising the Lord today. God will surely hear your song as He smiles down upon you.

Be blessed everyone!
