| "Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." Matthew 20:28 The greatness of a man is evidenced by his humility. In the words of an old Filipino saying, "The higher the bamboo grows, the lower it bends" is a wonderful example here. Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life ransom for many. The highest title God ever allows in His church is "servant." Are we willing to serve people as Jesus did? We know we cannot die for people to save them as Jesus did, but we can "die to self" to enable us to tell people that Jesus died for their sins, and thus serve them in the greatest way possible. When we humble ourself, then God will give us the grace to grow into maturity where, we, like a tall bamboo tree, can lower ourself to serve those of "low esteem." "Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits" (Romans 12:16). How tall are you spiritually? Tall and flexible enough to serve people in all kinds of situations? May God Bless you today as you bend to meet others needs. <J><E><S><U><S>< <S><A><V><E><S>< |
