| "For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death." Psalm 48:14 Suppose you were to buy a bicycle or a grill and bring it home in a box. Before you could enjoy their use, they would first have to be assembled. In the process of assembling them, you might chose to fumble around with a screw driver and wrench trying to fit all the pieces together properly. Or you can follow the manufacturer's directions. Isn't that the way it is with so much of life? Sensible people get directions before doing things. They follow guidelines prepared by people who already know the way. They learn from other's information, knowledge and insight. How much more important it is for us to follow the guidelines for life itself! The best directions we have come from our maker, God Himself. Through His Word, God gives us this command: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength" (Deuteronomy 6:5); and "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Luke 10:27). Jesus' life is an example for us to imitate. And when we fail to meet His standard, we are forgiven for Jesus' sake. When we are faced with a particular situation, we can ask, "What did Jesus do?" We can also pray, "Lord, guide me. Show me what You want me to do. Help me make wise use of my time, money, and talent." God directs. Let us be willing to follow. God Bless you as you allow God to guide you in your walk today and all days. <J><E><S><U><S>< <S><A><V><E><S>< |
