| The Holy Sabbath |
| I am starting this page because I am constantly asked questions about the Biblical Sabbath. Some call it the Jewish Sabbath, a term which does not appear in Scripture, and some say Sunday is the Christian Sabbath, which again is without foundation in Scripture. So what is the Sabbath? Where did it come from? Is it still followed as the Lord instructed or did Jesus remove that part of God's Law? There are many questions and many passages of Scripture used to teach either the following, or disreguarding, of God's Holy Sabbath Day. What is the problem with this you ask? The Scriptures do not contradict themselves anywere, the New does not contradict the Old, Jesus did not contradict God, but both walk hand in had as do Grace and Law. We are going to study the different passages used and see what the Scriptures say, not what man's opinion is, and if we are successful we will find absolutely no contradiction but full harmony in the Scriptures. | Romans 14:5 Doesn't this teach that as long as we are convinced in our own minds that Sunday is a proper replacement for the Sabbath we can worship it instead? Some pastors teach this, but what do the Scriptures say? |
| Colossians 2:16,17 See the Scriptures say "let no man judge you". Doesn't this put an end to all arguement on this topic of the Sabbath? What does this passage discuss? Come study and see it in context, you might be very surprised. |
| 1 Corinthians 16:1,2 Didn't Paul tell them to collect the offering on Sunday morning while they met to worship? Did Paul give a direction to a gathering of people or was this a different kind of request? Why was he asking them to give offerings in the first place? Come and see. |
| Acts 20:7 This is the proof that the Apostles met on the first day of the week, Sunday, for church. Is that what the passage says? Is this really a Sunday morning church service that so many claim it is? Don't be fooled. |
