Blue can slot the 5-point with 13/8 6/5, but it looks like there is more to lose than gain with this play.
I don't prefer re-splitting plays in early stages of the game, but Blue already has plenty of good point-making numbers, so it looks better to advance the back checker and try to pick off White's out-field blot.

24/18 leaves Blue bad 6's to play, so the choice is between 23/18 9/8 and 23/22 13/8.
Advancing to White's bar-point looks a bit too risky to me and I don't want lose the builder on the 9-point.  13/8 starts stripping the mid-point, but adds another builder for inner-board points.
23/22 13/8 is my choice of compromise.
