13/7* gives White eleven return shots, while the double-hit leaves White sixteen.
The positional and tactical drawbacks with the double-hit play are that it strips the 8-point and puts a checker on the ace-point so early in the game.
13/7* is my choice for Money and at most scores, but when I am too behind in the match (like 5-away vs. 1-away, Post Crawford, opp.owns the cube), I would probably go for the double-hit. {Rollouts}
It should be noted that the follow-ups after the double-hit often require higher skills, while your opponent's position likely become easier to handle after your double-hit particularly when he is far ahead in the match and would rather avoid complications.
