Revelation 4:5-11 "And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of G-d. And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, L-rd G-d Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O L-rd, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." (KJV)
The lighting, thunder and voices indicate that judgment is ahead.
The 7 lamps of fire burning before the throne represent Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit).
Before the throne of G-d is a "sea of glass like crystal" In the temple the Brazen Laver was used for cleansing before entering the temple. The crystal sea symbolizes the day when we will never need to confess our sins again. Why? Because we will be sinless!
The 4 living creatures are a type of angel. They have similar characteristics of the cherubim and seraphim but appear to be different. They symbolize 4 characteristics of G-d. They also represent that His government is over the 4 corners of the earth.
1) Like a lion compare with Matthew's portrayal of Y'shua. He showed Y'shua as the "Lion of the tribe of Judah"
2) Like a calf (bull) compare with Mark's portrayal of Y'shua. He showed Y'shua as the lowly ox. A servant.
3) Like a man compare with Luke's portrayal of Y'shua. He showed Y'shua as the perfect man.
4) Like an eagle compare with John's portrayal of Y'shua. He showed Y'shua as the mighty G-d.
They sing "Holy, Holy, Holy" - One for each member of the Tri-Unity of G-d.
The church (the 24 elders) will fall at His feet and worship Him. We will cast our crowns before Him telling Him:
Rev 4:11:"Thou art worthy, O L-rd, to receive glory
