Revelation 13:3-4 "And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?" (KJV)
Verse 3 is one of the verses in the book of Revelation that gets people talking and speculating on what it means and what is going to happen.
The word "wound" in verse 3 is "plege" in the Greek (play-gay -' a stroke; by implication, a wound; figuratively, a calamity:
It has been translated in the KJV as plague, stripe, wound (-ed).
This verse tells us that the Anti-Messiah will be wounded. Perhaps he will have a deadly plague and recover. Some believe he will actually die and be resurrected. I am not sure Satan would be given the power to actually bring someone back to life. However, others believe that he will be wounded and as good as dead and then recover. Maybe he will be cloned. Notice it says "Who is able to make war with Him?" This may be an indication that he suffers a wound in a war. Perhaps he will be healed from a gun shot to the head. We just don't know for sure.
What ever happens it will cause the people of the earth to "marvel". In this day and age people are pretty sophisticated, they are used to movies with special effects, etc. If the Anti-Messiah does attempt to deceive the masses it would have to be something exceptional.
ALL the people of the earth that are not "Believers in Y'shua" will worship the dragon (Satan) and the Anti-Messiah!
This is not just pagan idol worship this is "Satan worship"! And the whole earth will participate.
The following passage tells us that once the Holy Spirit is out of the way, then the Anti-Messiah will be revealed and Satan will control him. The unsaved world will believe a lie.
2 Thess 2:7-12 "For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the L-rd shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause G-d shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." (KJV)
Some believe that after his near death experience Satan himself will possess the Anti-Messiah. The only person in the Bible Satan is said to possess is Judas, however there are many good reasons to believe that he will also possess the Anti-Messiah and not leave the job up to a demon. (See John 13:27, Luke 22:3)
Only Judas and the Anti-Messiah are referred to as the "Son of Perdition" Judas in John 17:12 and the Anti-Messiah in 2 Thess 2:3.
Revelation 13:5-6 "And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against G-d, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven." (KJV)
Here again we see the Anti-Messiah blaspheming:
G-d
His name,
His tabernacle,
Those dwelling in Heaven (This is the believers)
He is given power 42 months (3 1/2 years The second half of the
tribulation period)
