Revelation 12:5-6 "And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto G-d, and to his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of G-d, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days." (KJV)
Here the man-child is Y'shua.
Psalms 2:7-9 "I will declare the decree: the L-RD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel." (KJV)
This passage tells us Y'shua will rule all nations during the Millennium with a rod of iron.
The reference to the child being caught up to heaven speaks of Y'shua's returning to heaven after his resurrection.
Mark 16:19 "So then after the L-rd had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of G-d." (KJV)
Rev 12:6 "And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of G-d, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days." (KJV)
Israel flees into the desert. Israel will be taken care of for 1260 days (3 1/2 Biblical years). This will be the second half of the tribulation.
(We will discuss why Israel flees and where she flees to in the next lesson.)
Revelation 12:7-9 "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." (KJV)
Daniel 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. (KJV)
Evidently Michael is the angel that defends Israel.
War in heaven. Michael will lead G-d's Holy angels against Satan and his demons. The devil and his demons are not as strong as G-d's angels and they will loose the battle.
Here Satan is referred to as:
The great dragon a term that also applies to the empire which he dominates in the end time.
The old serpent a term that refers to his possession of the snake in the Garden of Eden.
The Devil (Greek) which means slandering He is the master accuser of the brethren.
Satan (Hebrew) meaning adversary.
Up until this point in time Satan is permitted to come before the throne of G-d in Heaven. See Job chapter 1 for an example of this. After this war he and his demons will be limited to the earth for the rest of the tribulation period.
Revelation 12:10-12 "And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our G-d, and the power of his (Mashiach) Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our G-d day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time." (KJV)
This is the victory cheer after the war is over.
The word salvation is used here more in the sense of deliverance from the persecution and not as in the sense of saving you soul.
Notice it says Satan accuses the brethren "Believers" constantly "day and night"
How did they (the brethren) defeat him?
By the Blood of the Lamb (Y'shua). There is nothing more powerful in the universe the shed blood of Y'shua.
By their testimony. They had a personal relationship with Y'shua. They lived not their lives to death. They were willing to die for their beliefs.
Verse 12 tells us that the devil has "great wrath and knows his
days are numbered.
