John 8:25 And so they were saying to Him, "Who are You?" Jesus (Yeshua) said to them, "What have I been saying to you from the beginning?
From the beginning: from His testimony and others. From the start of Scripture Yeshua is declared! He is the promised seed in Gen. 3:15 and the second Adam. Also from John 1 �In the beginning was the word.�
John 8:26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but He that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things, which I have heard of Him.
One day this man would have to bow before Yeshua and declare Him G-d. He will judge this man. The Father gives all judgment to the Son. He declares what the Father declares.
John 8:27 They understood not that he spoke to them of the Father.
They did not know that He spoke to them of the Father (Abba)
John 8:28-30 So Jesus (Yeshua) said, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that �I AM� [the one I claim to be] and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him." Even as He spoke, many put their faith in him. NIV
He is G-d and can do no wrong. He and the Father are one. Many believed!! Matter of perspective.
John 8:31 Then said Yeshua (Jesus) to those Jews which believed on Him, If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed;
Those that follow Him will continue in His Word.
John 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Yeshua set us free. We are free from the curse of sin.
John 8:33 They answered Him, We are Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how can you say, You shall be made free?
How can you say, You will be made free?
John 8:34 Yeshua (Jesus) answered them, Verily, verily, I say to you, whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin.
They declared they were already free.
John 8:35-36 "And the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. "If therefore the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.
We are treated as sons of the King. Our residence is permanent. We cannot lose our inheritance or our right to enter in. We are free. Does the son of the king pay taxes? No, He is free of this obligation also. We are not under the law of natural men. We are forever the children of G-d through His promise.
John 8:37-38 I know that you are Abraham�s (physical) descendants, but you seek to kill me, because My Word has no place in you. I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you do what you have seen with your Father.
He is not speaking physical here. Spiritual!!
John 8:39 They answered and said to him, Abraham is our father. Yeshua (Jesus) said to them, If you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham.
They say �Avraham is our Father.� They again are thinking in physical terms.
John 8:40 But now you seek to kill me, a man that has told you the truth, which I have heard of G-d: this did not Abraham.
Yeshua said, �If they were Abraham�s children they would do the works of Abraham. But now you seek to murder Me, a man who has told you the truth which heard from the Father. Abraham did not do this. Abraham believed Yeshua. (Gen. 18) and believed in Yeshua. (Heb. 11)
John 8:41 You do the deeds of your father. Then said they to Him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even G-d.
We have one Father, even G-d. They finally understand and say G-d is there Father. Not born of fornication. Did they say this out of Sarcasm?
John 8:42-46 Yeshua (Jesus) said to them, "If G-d were your Father, you would love Me; for I proceeded forth and have come from G-d, for I have not even come on My own initiative, but He sent Me. "Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot hear My word. "You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature; for he is a liar, and the father of lies. "But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me. "Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If I speak truth, why do you not believe Me?
Yeshua, being G-d, knew these men had murder in their hearts.
John 8:45-46 "But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me. "Which one of you convicts Me of sin?
He is saying, Show me my sin. He is saying He is sinless!! Only the true Son of G-d is sinless.
If I tell the truth, Why do you not believe?
He who is of G-d hears G-d�s Words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of G-d. (And do not hear G-d. G-d was speaking to him.
John 8:46 "Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If I speak truth, why do you not believe Me?
John 8:47-48 He that is of G-d hears G-d's words: you therefore hear them not, because you are not of G-d. Then answered the Jews, and said to him, Say we not well that you are a Samaritan, and have a devil?
They accuse Him of being a Samaritan. (half-breed) Samaritans questioned the exclusive right to be descendants of Abraham. They also accused Him of having a demon.
John 8:49 Yeshua (Jesus) answered, I have not a devil; but I honor my Father, and you do dishonor me.
Yeshua says, � I honor my Father, and you dishonor me. If you dishonor Him you dishonor the Father.
John 8:50-53 But I do not seek My glory; there is One who seeks and judges. "Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death." The Jews said to Him, "Now we know that You have a demon. Abraham died, and the prophets also; and You say, 'If anyone keeps My word, he shall never taste of death.' "Surely You are not greater than our father Abraham, who died? The prophets died too; whom do You make Yourself out to be?"
This is getting good.
John 8:54-55 Yeshua (Jesus) answered, "If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say, 'He is our G-d'; and you have not come to know Him, but I know Him; and if I say that I do not know Him, I shall be a liar like you, but I do know Him, and keep His word.
He would not deny He knew the Father; otherwise, He would be a liar. G-d cannot lie.
John 8:56-57 "Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad." The Jews therefore said to Him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?"
John 8:58 Yeshua (Jesus) said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, � I am."
Before Abraham was �I AM� Awesome words��He declared Himself YHWH!!!
John 8:59 Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him; but Yeshua (Jesus) hid Himself, and went out of the temple.
These men understood Yeshua�s claim and followed Lev 24:16. This was applied to those that falsely claimed to be G-d. He hid Himself and went out of the temple. G-d in the flesh was in the temple. This temple should have received more glory because Yeshua entered. Yeshua should have received more glory than this temple.
He was, is, and always will be YHWH.
