John 21:20-22 Then Peter, turning about, saw the disciple whom Yeshua (Jesus) loved following; which also leaned on His breast at supper, and said, L-rd, which is he that betrays You? Peter seeing him said to Yeshua, L-rd, and what shall this man do? Yeshua (Jesus) said to him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to you? You follow me.
If Yeshua should protect John until He comes�meaning of shin. The terrain around Jerusalem with the Kidron, Hinnom valleys actually produce an image when looking from above, the letter shin. G-d protects Israel. :~)
So Peter asked Yeshua what would become of John. Yeshua more or less told Peter that it is none of his business. Peter is to be concerned only with what G-d wants him to do. Not what G-d wants John to do.
John 21:23 Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Yeshua (Jesus) said not to him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to you?
This is Divine protection.
What was Yeshua implying here?
Yeshua did not say John would not die. We now know John would not see His literal coming but was given a vision of His coming when He returns. He wrote the book of Revelation too.
Three times Yeshua asks Peter if he loves Him. Why?
Maybe for emphasis? Maybe because Peter had denied Him three times earlier.
This hits Peter deeply I think, and it�s certainly to the point. Yet, no matter how we fail we can always shake off the dust and get up again.
He does say, �Feed my sheep� three times for emphasis. He tells Peter to feed the people with the Word and truth.
We end just short of the last letter in the alph-bet, which is tahv. This is because John brings us from here to the Revelation of Yeshua. This is where John of course is given the vision of Yeshua�s coming. Here Yeshua says I am the Alpha and the tahv connecting John to the book of Revelation. So we go back to alpha again continuing the loop in Revelation.
John 8:12 Then again spoke (Yeshua) Jesus to them, saying, I am the LIGHT of the world: he that follows M will not walk in darkness, but shall have the LIGHT of life.
IN Revelation of Yeshua:
Rev 22:16 I,YESHUA (Jesus), have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the synagogues. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and MORNING star.
Yeshua said I am the morning star. There is a star that can be seen in Gen. 1:4
Some consider this to be the sh�khinah. Let�s get a complete picture from Scripture.
This light was seen (not created)�.Yhiy (OT 1961) �Owr (O.T 216) the substantive verb is used. It was only manifested here and had been previously in existence.
Yeshua said I am the alpha. Beit is the first letter in the Torah because the alpha had a far greater job to complete. This light was brighter than the sun. The sun was not created until later on the fourth day. The morning star�s glory puts the sun and moon to shame. So you see He is not the sun as in what the pagans worship. (cf: Rev. 1;Rev. 22:13 and Rev. 21:23)
The sages say this LIGHT was set-aside for the future of Messianic fulfillment. This light was morning on the FIRST Day.
Gen 1:3-5 And Elohim said, Let there be light: and there was light. And Elohim saw the light, that it was good: and Elohim divided the light from the darkness. And Elohim called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And the evening and the MORNING were the first day.
Ps 36:9 For with you is the fountain of life: in your LIGHT shall we see LIGHT.
Your Word is a light and lamp to my path. Indeed the Word of G-d is that.
Also,
Your WORD (Yeshua) is a LIGHT and lamp to my feet.
Yeshua is a light that will also come again:
Isaiah 60:1-5 Arise, shine; for your light is come, and the glory of YHWH is risen upon you. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but YHWH shall arise upon you, and His glory shall be seen upon you. And the Gentiles shall come to the LIGHT, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Lift up your eyes around, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to you: your sons shall come from far, and your daughters shall be nursed at your side. Then you will see, and flow together, and your heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea will be turned to you, the forces of the Gentiles shall come to you.
Rev 21:23-25 And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine upon it, for the glory of G-d (sh�khinah) has illumined it, and its LAMP is the LAMB. And the nations shall walk by its LIGHT, and the kings of the earth shall bring their glory into it. And in the daytime (for there shall be no night there) its gates shall never be closed;
John 21:24 - This is the disciple, which testifies of these THINGS, and wrote these THINGS: and we know that his testimony is true.
1 John 1:1-7 That which was from the BEGINNING, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the WORD of LIFE; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show to you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested to us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we to you, that you also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ). If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not know the truth: But if we walk in the LIGHT, as he is in the LIGHT, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ) His Son cleanses us from all sin.
One day we will be like Him.
Matt 13:43Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who has ears to hear, let him hear.
Dan 12:2-3 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever.
John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Yeshua (Jesus) did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
