John Chapter 1 (Continued)

John 1:43-44 The next day He purposed to go forth into Galilee, and He found Philip. And Yeshua (Jesus) said to him, "Follow Me." Now Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter.

Yeshua calls Phillip to follow Him. He is calling you to follow Him too. Will you follow Him today?

John 1:45 Philip found Nathanel and said to him, "We have found Him of whom Moses in the Law and also the Prophets wrote, Yeshua (Jesus) of Nazareth, the son of Joseph."

Phillip declared to Nathanel, We have found him whom Moshe and the prophets have written.

John 1:46 And Nathanel said to him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip said to him, Come and see.

Can any good come out of Nazareth? Although Yeshua grew up in Nazareth, He was born in Bethlehem, which interestingly enough means House of bread.

John 1:47 Yeshua said to Nathanel, Behold an Israelite indeed in whom is no guile!

Wow. To receive such a complement like that. What does this mean?

Nathaniel was willing to honestly search for himself if what he heard was indeed true. Yeshua knew he had an honest seeking heart! How did Yeshua know his character? Only G-d could know.

John 1:48 Nathanel said to Him, "How do You know me?" Yeshua (Jesus) answered and said to him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you."

Yeshua again shows supernatural power by declaring He saw Nathaniel under the fig tree.

John 1:49 Nathanel answered Him, "Rabbi, You are the Son of G-d; You are the King of Israel."

This amazed Nathaniel. Yeshua knew his heart and the things he did. Nathaniel believed and by the leading of Ruach HaKodesh realized Yeshua is the Son of G-d, the King of Israel! The Messiah!

John 1:50 Yeshua (Jesus) answered and said to him, "Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You shall see greater things than these.

Yeshua confirms Nathaniels observations. And declares He would see a lot more than these things.

John 1:51 And He said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you shall see the heavens opened, and the angels of G-d ascending and descending on the Son of Man."

This refers to Gen. 28:12 Yeshua son of man becomes the ladder in Jacobs dream. This ladder reached to the top of heaven. It became the way to the Father. Yeshua is not only the door but also the ladder.

Gen 28:12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of G-d ascending and descending on it.
