John 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Our kingdom is above. All of mans life is vanity in this world.
Petition 4: For the sanctification of the believers.
John 17:17 Sanctify them through Your truth: Your word is truth.
Yeshua is the Word and is truth and the Father Sanctifies us through His Son.
Heb 10:9-10 Then said he, Lo, I come to do your will, O G-d. He take away the first, that He may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ) once for all.
What the Son speaks comes from the Father above. (Deut. 18:18)
John 17:18 As You have sent Me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
John 17:19 And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
In verse 20-26 He prays for all Christians throughout the whole age.
John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on Me through their word;
Petition 5: For spiritual unity of believers
John 17:21 That they all may be one; as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us
Petition 6 That the world may believe.
John 17:21 that the world may believe that You have sent Me.
Yeshua is the head and we are in unity on the Word He gave from the Father and that the Father (Abba) sent Him.
John 17:22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
John 17:23 I in them, and You in Me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and has loved them, as You have loved Me.
Petition 7: That believers may be with Him in heaven to behold and share His glory.John 17:24 Father, I will that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am; that they may behold My glory, which you have given Me: for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
John 17:25 O righteous Father, the world has not known You: but I have known You, and these have known that You have sent Me.
John 17:26 And I have declared to them your name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith You have loved Me may be in them, and I in them.
