B'resheet 47:20-26 So Yosef bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh, for every Egyptian sold his field, because the famine was severe upon them. Thus the land became Pharaoh's. And as for the people, he removed them to the cities from one end of Egypt's border to the other. Only the land of the priests he did not buy, for the priests had an allotment from Pharaoh, and they lived off the allotment which Pharaoh gave them. Therefore, they did not sell their land. Then Yosef said to the people, "Look, I have today bought YOU and your land for Pharaoh; now, here is seed for you, and you may sow the land. And at the harvest you shall give a fifth to Pharaoh, and four-fifths shall be your own for SEED of the field and for your food and for those of your households and as food for your little ones." So they said, "You have saved our lives! Let us find favor in the sight of my L-rd, and we will be Pharaoh's slaves." And Yosef made it a statute concerning the land of Egypt valid to this day, that Pharaoh should have the fifth; only the land of the priests did not become Pharaoh's.
Yosef bought them with a price. Yeshua bought us with a price- His blood. Saving our spiritual lives for eternity. We now serve Him and therefore the Father.
In the future, Egyptians will become servants of Yeshua.
Isaiah 19:16-25 In that day the Egyptians will become like women, and they will tremble and be in dread because of the waving of the hand of the L-RD of hosts, which He is going to wave over them. And the land of Y'hudah will become a terror to Egypt; everyone to whom it is mentioned will be in dread of it, because of the purpose of the L-RD of hosts which He is purposing against them. In that day five cities in the land of Egypt will be speaking the language of Kena'an (Hebrew) and swearing allegiance to the L-RD of hosts; one will be called the City of Destruction. In that day there will be an altar to the L-RD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the L-RD near its border. And it will become a sign and a witness to the L-RD of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the L-RD because of oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Champion, and He will deliver them. Thus the L-RD will make Himself known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the L-RD in that day. They will even worship with sacrifice and offering, and will make a vow to the L-RD and perform it. And the L-RD will strike Egypt, striking but healing; so they will return to the L-RD, and He will respond to them and will heal them. In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrians will come into Egypt and the Egyptians into Assyria, and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians. In that day Israel will be the third party with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth, whom the L-RD of hosts has blessed, saying, "Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance." NAS
the language of Kena'an - This will be Hebrew.
We will then reign on earth with Yeshua as priests. The priests were given land as an allotment from Pharaoh. We have an allotment from the Father, which is called the New Yerushalayim (Jerusalem).
Revelation 5:10-11"And You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our G-d; and they will reign upon the earth."
Revelation 21:2-4 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from G-d, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of G-d is among men, and He shall dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and G-d Himself shall be among them, and He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there shall no longer be any death; there shall no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away. "
Romans 8:16-17 The Ruach (Spirit) Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of G-d, and if children, heirs also, heirs of G-d and fellow heirs with Messiah, if indeed we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him.
Back to Yosef:
B'resheet 47:27-31 Now Israel lived in the land of Egypt, in Goshen, and they acquired property in it and were fruitful and became very numerous. And Ya'akov lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years; so the length of Ya'akov's life was one hundred and forty-seven years. When the time for Israel to die drew near, he called his son Yosef and said to him, "Please, if I have found favor in your sight, place now your hand under my thigh and deal with me in kindness and faithfulness. Please do not bury me in Egypt, but when I lie down with my fathers, you shall carry me out of Egypt and bury me in their burial place. "And he said," I will do as you have said. " And he said, "Swear to me." So he swore to him. Then Israel bowed in worship at the head of the bed.
They acquired property in it and were fruitful and became very numerous - While the Egyptian people are being devastated by the famine and selling everything they have to Pharaoh for food, the Children of Israel are prospering. G-d continues to bless them during this difficult time.
Under my thigh - na yadecha in Hebrew. -We saw this expression used with Avraham and his servant in B'resheet 24:1-4. The numeric value of the two words na yeadecha is 85. The sages say that Avraham asked Eliezer to swear by his b'rit milah (circumcision). The numerical value of milah is 85. The circumcision is a sign of the covenant between G-d and Avraham, therefore the servant had to lay his hand on the sign of that covenant to swear His allegiance to Avraham and G-d. Ya'akov is asking Yosef to do the same here, to swear by the sign of the covenant.
Again, Ya'akov is taken to and then taken out of Egypt as an old man. He is also a "type" pointing us to the Messiah. In contrast, Yeshua as a young baby is later taken to Egypt by Yosef to keep him from harm and then returns HIM to Israel. This is done through the faithfulness of Yosef.
Matthew 2:13-15 Now when they had departed, Look, an angel of the L-rd appeared to Yosef in a dream, saying, "Arise and take the Child and His mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you; for Herod is going to search for the Child to destroy Him." And he arose and took the Child and His mother by night, and departed for Egypt; and was there until the death of Herod, that what was spoken by the L-rd through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, "Out of Egypt did I call My Son." NAS
Hosea 11:1 When Israel was a youth I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son.
Matthew 2:19-20 But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the L-rd appeared in a dream to Yosef in Egypt, saying, "Arise and take the Child and His mother, and go into the land of Israel; for those who sought the Child's life are dead."
